We live under the influence of many suburban legends. Perhaps none is greater than the belief that God’s highest
goal for our lives is our personal happiness. It seems the moment, in any area of our lives, when we are not experiencing happiness;
we quit on that relationship or retreat from that responsibility. Not happy in your marriage…get out. Hate your job…just quit.
The truth is chasing a life of happiness will always leave us lacking. On the other hand, the pursuit of holiness brings us a
traveling partner called JOY and takes us to a place that happiness only dreams of going.
